Where's Bertie? His rear bumper is about 1.5 metres away from where it was last night, but he's now the other side of the fence, at Camping Allersee at a cost of €14.80 (parking only). We will likely also splash out 50c each on showers.
Weather: Sunny intervals. Feeling hot in the sun.
We had another good parkrun this morning*, with another friendly bunch of locals, one of whom had provided a big flask of coffee and some homemade hobnob-esque biscuits. Once again, we loitered until the very end, chatting to various runners, all of whom spoke impeccable English. It's just a pity I wasn't suitably equipped to take a quick dip in the lake afterwards.

According to one of the parkrunners, in 39 events, it hasn't rained yet.
Back at Bertie I contemplated for a while, then put four options to Mick:
1) Stay where we were (which is right on tomorrow's marathon/half marathon course, so we could form a cheering squad), but with the necessity to go and buy some drinking water;
2) Travel to a free Stellplatz 25km to the S, and about 15km out of our way**;
3) Travel to a pay-Stellplatz 29km to the NW, also about 15km out of our way; or
4) Nip the other side of the fence and cough up for the campsite.
To Mick's surprise, my vote was for the campsite. If we took into account that it wouldn't require us to drive out of our way, that water and waste would be included (versus €2 at the free Stellplatz), and that I could get some of the laundry dry on the washing line, thus saving one load in a tumble drier, then the price looked quite reasonable. Plus there's the convenience of somewhere obvious to run tomorrow, and the option, should we so choose (which we may well not) to visit the VW museum.
It was to our amusement that we were allocated Pitch No. W11 (it's not really a 'pitch' it's a parking place in the motorhome Stellplatz within the campsite), which is immediately the other side of the fence from where Bertie spent a very quiet (and free) night last night.
Two loads of laundry have been washed and, by the end of the day, will have dried, all of which has involved plenty of walking back and forth from our pitch to the laundry room. I noticed on the first such trip that every single caravan and motorhome in the first 'aisle' of the campsite is from Denmark. On my second trip I noticed that all of the people in that aisle are wearing name tags; obviously some sort of a meet.
There's nowt else to report, even though it doesn't feel like it's been a lazy day.
(*My third consecutive finish as first female - slightly more of a triumph this week compared to last, in that there were 13 women present today.
** 'Out of our way' is a debatable term, given our lack of a plan for the next 6 days. I was basing it on the need to go to Braunschweig to do laundry, due to the dearth of laundrettes in Germany. Now that we've done laundry at the campsite, we don't need to return to Braunschweig at all.)

Two good photos especially when enlarged.
